Home Office & Study · Blinds
Blinds suit a working room because they adjust by degrees. Tilt, lower or open them a little and the glare leaves the screen while the daylight stays.

Alternating sheer and solid bands: slide them into line for light and a filtered view, offset them for privacy.
In short
For a home office in Goa, venetian blinds in aluminium or faux wood give the finest control of glare at the desk; zebra blinds are a softer fabric alternative. Add a blackout roller behind if the room also sleeps guests, and a honeycomb blind where afternoon heat is the main problem.

We bring samples to your home, hold them to your light and measure every opening — anywhere in North or South Goa.
Slatted blinds — venetian or faux wood — are the most adjustable. Tilt them so the slats face up and the light bounces off the ceiling, which makes a bright, even room with no direct sun on the screen. They are the closest thing to a professional office's glare control.
Fabric blinds look softer and photograph better. A zebra blind gives two settings, filtered and closed, with something in between; a roller in a screen fabric cuts glare while keeping the view. If you spend most of the day on calls and the window is in shot, fabric usually looks calmer than slats, which can create stripes of light on your face.
Measure the gap between the desk and the window sill before you choose. A blind fitted inside the window recess lets the desk sit tight against the wall; a blind fitted outside the recess covers more glass and blocks more light at the edges, but needs clearance above the desk.
Put the control — cord, chain or wand — on the side away from the desk so you are not reaching over a monitor. In a child's study, choose cordless or wand operation and keep chains secured high and tidy.
A study used for both work and sleep can take a double blind: a light-filtering screen roller for the day and a blackout roller behind it for night. Both roll into a slim headbox. It is a neat answer for rented flats and smaller rooms where a curtain would crowd the desk.
Motors earn their place in a home office when the window is high, wide or behind furniture, or when you want the blind to drop on a timer before the sun reaches the desk. Ask for a battery or a setup that works on your inverter circuit so a power cut doesn't leave the blind stuck halfway.
In Goa
From June to September a study window can stay misted for days. Aluminium and faux-wood slats shrug off moisture; real timber blinds can warp and fabric blinds in a closed, damp room can spot with mildew. If the room is shut for weeks while you travel, leave blinds raised so the glass and the fabric get air.
Near the sea, ask for corrosion-resistant headrails and brackets. The rest of the year, the west sun is strong enough to fade a dark fabric blind within a few seasons — lighter colours, or a blind with a reflective backing, last longer on a west window.

FAQ
Venetian blinds give the most control over glare because the slats tilt; zebra and screen roller blinds are a softer option. If heat is the main issue, honeycomb blinds insulate the window best.
They can throw stripes of light across your face if the sun hits them directly. Tilt the slats upward, or choose a fabric blind for a window that is behind or beside you on camera.
Yes — a double roller puts both in one headbox, so you can filter light during the day and black the room out at night.
Blinds, usually. They sit close to the glass and can be adjusted precisely. Curtains do more for sound and softness, which is why many studies combine the two.
