Home Office & Study · Wall Panels
The wall behind your chair is the one your colleagues see every day. Panels turn it into a quiet, finished backdrop — and the right ones take the ring out of a tiled room.

In short
For a home office, panel the wall that appears behind you on camera. Acoustic panels (felt or slatted wood on felt) absorb echo; fluted or WPC panels give a finished look and stand up to Goan humidity. Plan cable runs and lighting before the panels go up.
What your home office asks of wall panels

We bring samples to your home, hold them to your light and measure every opening — anywhere in North or South Goa.
Start with the wall the camera sees. Sit at the desk, open your video app and look at what is behind you; that is the wall that gives the most return for the money. In a small study that is often a single wall, two to three metres wide, which keeps the job modest.
For echo, the best wall is the one opposite or beside where you speak, because your voice reflects off it into the microphone. If the camera wall and the reflecting wall are the same — common when the desk faces into the room — you get both benefits from one job.
Decorative panels such as fluted PVC or WPC look good and are tough, but they are hard surfaces; they do little for echo on their own. Acoustic panels have a felt or fibre backing and gaps between the slats that let sound in to be absorbed.
If you record podcasts, teach online or spend much of the day on calls, an acoustic panel on at least part of the wall is worth it. If you mainly want a tidy background, a decorative panel plus a rug and a lined curtain will usually make the room quiet enough.
Plan everything that needs to go on the wall before the panels are fixed: a shelf, a small LED strip to wash the slats from above, sockets at desk height, a channel for monitor cables. Cutting a panel afterwards is possible but rarely as neat.
Soft light grazing down a fluted or slatted wall looks good on camera, because it separates you from the background. Keep it warm and dim so it doesn't compete with the light on your face.
In a child's study corner, a lower band of tough, wipeable panels takes knocks from chairs and school bags, and a pinboard or shelf section above holds timetables and books. Choose finishes that clean with a damp cloth.
In Goa
Many Goan homes have thick laterite outer walls that wick moisture in the monsoon. Fixing panels straight onto a damp wall traps moisture behind them, and that is where mould and a musty smell begin. We check the wall first, and on an outside or ground-floor wall we fix panels on battens with an air gap, or recommend WPC or PVC rather than timber.
Study rooms that are shut while their owners travel need extra care: leave a window cracked or a dehumidifier running in the wet months, and avoid porous fabric-covered panels on walls that you know get damp.

FAQ
Acoustic panels do — they have an absorbent backing designed for it. Decorative panels such as fluted PVC improve the look but help much less with sound unless combined with curtains and a rug.
WPC and PVC panels cope best with monsoon humidity. Real wood and fabric-backed acoustic panels are fine on dry inner walls, ideally fixed on battens with an air gap.
Enough to fill the frame behind you — usually a section a little wider than the desk, from floor to ceiling or to a shelf line. It doesn't need to be the whole room.
Yes, if we plan it before fixing. A channel behind or between panels can carry cables to the desk and a socket position.
Yes, across North and South Goa. We visit, check the wall for damp, show samples and give a written quote.
