Apartment living in Goa means neighbours a few metres away, windows of builder-standard sizes, rooms that have to do two jobs, and often a landlord or a tenant to think about.

Flat & Apartment in Goa
Most of the flats we furnish are in the towns — Panjim, Porvorim, Margao, Vasco, Dona Paula — or in the newer complexes that have grown up around them. They share a few things: aluminium sliding windows in a handful of standard sizes, a balcony off the living room, a building opposite that looks straight in, and rooms where every centimetre of floor counts.
They also split into two very different jobs. An owner furnishing a flat to live in can drill, build in and choose for the long run. An owner furnishing a flat to let — or a tenant making a rental feel like home — needs pieces that are easy to install, easy to clean between occupants, and easy to take away. We ask which you are before we suggest anything.
Flats in Goa also take the climate differently from houses. Upper floors catch more wind and more sun; lower floors can be damper and darker; a sea-view flat in Dona Paula or Caranzalem gets salt on its window frames in a way a flat in inland Margao does not.

In most Goan flats, a day-and-night pair works best: a sheer or semi-sheer that gives privacy by day, and a lined or blackout curtain for evenings and bedrooms.

For most flats, zebra blinds are the most versatile: they move from privacy-with-light to fully closed with one cord.

For a typical Goan apartment, a three-seater with slim arms, or a compact L-shape tucked into a corner, gives the most seating per square metre.

In most flats, one feature wall is enough: behind the TV, behind the bed, or at the end of the living room.

For flats, a sliding net on the aluminium window frame is usually the simplest answer: it runs in its own channel and slides with the window.
