Double-height living rooms, walls of glass, home automation and a designer's scheme to follow. Soft furnishings at this level are planned with the architecture, not added after it.

Luxury Villa in Goa
A luxury villa in Goa is usually designed rather than simply built. There is an architect, often an interior designer, a palette and a set of drawings. Living rooms rise through two storeys, glass runs from floor to ceiling, ceilings are coffered or timber-lined, and the house may be wired for lighting scenes, climate and security from a single panel. Soft furnishings in a house like this are part of the design, and they have to be detailed with the same care as the joinery.
That changes what matters. Curtain tracks need recesses cut into the false ceiling before it is closed. Motors need power and data at the right point. A feature wall needs its lighting and panel joints resolved together. Sofas are drawn to the room's proportions, not bought to a catalogue size. And because many of these houses are still holiday homes, every luxurious choice has to hold up to Goan humidity, sea air and months of standing closed.
We work alongside architects and designers as often as directly with owners — reading the drawings, sampling fabrics against the real light on site, and coordinating installation with the other trades so the finished rooms look as the renderings promised.

For a luxury villa, plan curtains at the ceiling stage: recessed or ceiling-fixed tracks, ripple-fold headings, wide-width sheers that avoid vertical seams on tall glass, and weighted hems that hang straight.

For a luxury villa, design the sofa to the room: measure the seating zone, decide the depth people want, and choose a sectional or a pair of sofas for very large spaces.

Plan statement walls with the lighting and the joinery, not after them: decide the panel, the joint lines and the edge details at drawing stage, build in cove or wall-washer lighting, and fix everything to a ventilated frame so Goan humidity can't move it.

Use murals and statement papers on internal walls that stay dry, plan exactly where the pattern falls around doors, furniture and sightlines, and choose humidity-tolerant materials — non-woven and vinyl-faced papers — for most rooms.

Size each rug to the furniture group rather than the room — large living rooms often need a custom size.

FAQ
Yes, often. We read the drawings, propose tracks, fabrics and fixings that fit the design, and coordinate site work with the other trades.
Before the false ceilings and wall finishes are closed — ideally when electrical points are being marked. That is when track recesses, motor power and feature-wall details are easiest.
