For your home
The smallest room in the house asks the most of its materials: water on one side, a window someone might look through on the other, and a monsoon that never quite lets it dry.

Bathroom in Goa
A Goan bathroom is usually wet twice over. There is the water you use — a shower that splashes across an open floor, a bucket bath, a washbasin by the window — and there is the water in the air, which from June to September keeps tiles, grout and anything made of fabric damp for days at a time. Many older houses have small, high windows with no exhaust fan; many new flats have a window onto a shared duct or a neighbour's wall, a metre away.
So the questions here are different from every other room. Who can see in, and from where? What will get splashed, and what only gets steam? What can be wiped down, and what has to come off and go in the machine? A fabric that is perfect at a bedroom window will be grey with mildew at a shower within a single monsoon.
We also do a lot of en-suites for homestays and rental villas, where a bathroom has to look fresh for every new guest and survive people who don't know to open the window. That changes the brief again: fewer fabrics, more wipeable surfaces, nothing that needs explaining.

Inside the shower, use a quick-drying polyester curtain with a weighted hem on a stainless or aluminium rod, sized to overlap the opening.

For a bathroom in Goa, PVC or faux-wood venetian blinds are the most durable choice — they ignore humidity and wipe down in seconds.

Use PVC wall panels or PVC marble sheets on dry walls, above the splash line, behind a vanity or on the ceiling — they don't swell with damp and wipe clean.

FAQ
Yes. We make shower curtains to your opening's width and height and fit window blinds or curtains in the same visit, so the bathroom is finished in one go.
PVC panels and PVC marble sheets are fine on dry walls and above the splash line, and they don't swell with damp. Inside the shower, tiles over proper waterproofing are still the right answer.
Often. For guest bathrooms we lean towards wipeable blinds, washable shower curtains and fittings that don't rust, so turnover cleaning stays quick.
