Curtains for cottages, villas and guest blocks that have to match each other, sleep guests late into the morning and still look fresh at the end of a long season by the sea.

Time of day
Two layers on a double track: the sheer stays drawn for the day, the blackout closes over it at night. The most flexible answer for a bedroom.
In short
For most resort guest rooms in Goa, fit a breathable sheer and a lined or blackout curtain on a double aluminium track, in a fire-retardant contract fabric chosen for sun-fastness. Write the specification down once, make a mock-up room, then repeat it across the property and keep spare fabric from the same batch.
What the resort asks of curtains
See it in the resort
We bring samples to your home, hold them to your light and measure every opening — anywhere in North or South Goa.
The single most useful thing a resort can own is a written curtain specification: the fabric and colour reference, the lining, the heading type, the fullness, the finished drop measured from the track, the track profile and its fixing height, and the hook and glider count. With that sheet, a curtain damaged in cottage eighteen next year can be remade to match without anyone guessing.
We prepare that document during the job. Ask us to set aside spare fabric from the same dye batch — a later batch of the same colour can differ just enough to show when two curtains hang side by side.
Blackout lining alone does not make a dark room. Light leaks around the edges: over the top of a pole, past the sides, under a curtain that stops short. In guest rooms we prefer a ceiling-fixed or face-fixed track with returns at the ends, curtains that overlap at the centre and extend past the frame on both sides, and a drop that sits just off the floor.
If a room has a gap above the window that the track cannot close, a pelmet or a blackout roller blind behind the curtain usually solves it. We check each room type for this during the survey rather than assuming every cottage is built the same — on older properties they rarely are.
Resort curtains are drawn and opened many times a day by people who don't own them, laundered between seasons and exposed to strong sun. Choose a mid-weight woven fabric with a firm hand, in a warm neutral or a tone that will not show sun fade. Very open weaves snag on luggage and jewellery; very heavy fabrics are hard to launder and slow to dry in the monsoon.
For guest rooms and public areas, specify fire-retardant contract fabrics and ask for the documentation with the order. Our coastal fabric advisor is a quick way to narrow the options before samples arrive.
We survey every room type, agree the mock-up room, then cut and make in batches. Curtains are pre-hooked and labelled by room before they leave the studio, so time spent in each cottage is mostly fixing the track and hanging. Rooms can return to inventory in groups while the next block is being fitted.

In Goa
On many Goan properties the front row of cottages faces the sea across open sand while the back rows sit under palms. The front row needs the strongest lining and stainless or aluminium fittings throughout; the shaded rows need fabrics that dry quickly, because they hold damp for weeks after the rains.
If parts of the resort close from June to September, have curtains taken down, cleaned and stored dry rather than left hanging in shut rooms. Mildew starts in still, damp air against a closed window, and a single wet season can mark a whole block of curtains.

FAQ
A sheer for the day and a blackout-lined curtain for sleep, on a double aluminium track. Choose a mid-weight, sun-fast contract fabric, ideally fire-retardant, in a neutral that won't show fading by the sea.
Often, yes. Bring us a sample or let us take one during the survey; we look for the closest match and tell you honestly if a replacement will read differently beside the originals.
We can specify fire-retardant contract fabrics for guest rooms and public areas. Tell us what your licensing or insurer asks for, and request the documentation with the order.
Site survey, mock-up room, then batch production with every curtain labelled by room. Installation is phased so that only the rooms being fitted are out of use.
Yes, in almost every guest room. A lining protects the face fabric from sun and salt, makes the room private at night and helps the curtains keep their shape through laundering.
