Resort · Motorised Curtains & Blinds
Pool villas with full-height glass, reception pavilions with double-height openings, spa suites where a therapist needs the light to change without leaving the guest — where motorisation genuinely helps on a resort.

Time of day
Two layers on a double track: the sheer stays drawn for the day, the blackout closes over it at night. The most flexible answer for a bedroom.
In short
Motorise the openings that are too tall, too wide or too numerous to draw by hand, and leave the rest manual. On a resort in Goa, choose quiet motors, aluminium tracks, a manual fallback for power cuts, and controls simple enough that any guest can use them without a demonstration.

We bring samples to your home, hold them to your light and measure every opening — anywhere in North or South Goa.
Not every window on a resort benefits from a motor. Standard cottage windows are drawn easily by hand and are less expensive to keep. The strongest cases are double-height reception pavilions, full-height sliding glass in pool villas, banks of glazing in a restaurant or spa that staff must open and close every day, and skylights.
A useful test during the site survey: if a member of staff needs a ladder, a pole or two people to draw it, or if guests are likely to tug a heavy curtain off its gliders, it is a candidate for motorisation.
Wired motors suit new builds and refurbishments where an electrician can run supply to the head of each window before plastering. They need no charging and are the most dependable for heavy curtains on long tracks.
Battery motors suit retrofits where chasing walls would disturb finished rooms; they need recharging periodically, which a maintenance routine can include. Solar-assisted options can work for blinds on bright façades. On a large property we often mix the three, and we document which room has which so the maintenance team is never guessing.
In guest rooms, keep it simple: a labelled switch by the bed and one by the door, or a single remote with clearly marked channels for sheer and blackout. Guests who cannot work the curtains call reception, and that is the opposite of luxury.
In public areas, scheduled operation is where motorisation pays back. Lobby sheers that close as the afternoon sun swings round, spa blinds that dim at the start of evening treatments, restaurant blinds that lift at sunset — set once, they run every day without anyone remembering.
A motor does not rescue a poor curtain. Use a fabric that hangs evenly in a ripple-fold or similar heading, so it stacks neatly every time the motor drives it back. Make sure the track is rated for the weight of a lined, full-height curtain, and that the stack does not cover the glass when open. We plan this on the same survey as the motor.
In Goa
Motors and electronics dislike salt and damp as much as fabric does. On beachfront units, specify aluminium tracks and keep the motor head inside the room, away from direct spray. Through the monsoon, run each motorised curtain occasionally even in closed villas; mechanisms that sit idle in damp air for months are the ones that stick on reopening.
Before the season, test every motor and replace batteries where needed. A five-minute check per room is far better than a guest discovering a stuck curtain on their first night.

FAQ
For tall glass, lobbies, spa suites and skylights, yes — they are used properly every day and suffer less wear. For standard cottage windows, manual curtains are usually the better choice.
Battery motors keep working. Wired motors resume when backup power comes on, and we specify systems that can also be drawn or released by hand.
We recommend labelled wall switches or a simple remote rather than an app. Anyone should be able to close the curtains in the dark.
Often, if the fabric and heading suit a motorised track. We assess the existing curtains during the survey and tell you whether they will run smoothly or need remaking.
They last well with aluminium tracks, the motor kept inside, and regular use through the damp months. Units right on the beach need the most care.
