Two layers on a double track: the sheer stays drawn for the day, the blackout closes over it at night. The most flexible answer for a bedroom.
In short
In hotels, motorisation pays off in suites, premium rooms, lobbies with tall glass, and banquet and conference halls. Choose quiet motors so night use doesn't wake anyone, simple bedside and door controls, integration with room controls where your system supports it, and a manual fallback for power cuts.
What the hotel asks of motorised curtains & blinds

We bring samples to your home, hold them to your light and measure every opening — anywhere in North or South Goa.
Motorised curtains are increasingly expected in suites and premium rooms. The useful set-up is two channels — sheer and blackout — controlled from a panel by the bed and another by the door, with a remote as a backup. Some hotels link the curtains to the room's key-card system so they open on arrival; that depends on your room-control platform and is something we plan with your electrical contractor.
Motor noise matters more in a hotel than at home. Ask to hear a motor running before you commit, and check how it sounds at night in a quiet room.
Lobbies often have double-height glazing that can only be reached by scaffold. Motorised sheers there can be scheduled to close as direct sun reaches the seating and open again later, keeping the lobby comfortable and protecting the furniture from fading. Staff at reception can override the schedule with a single switch.
Event spaces change use several times a day: a bright breakfast meeting, a presentation needing a dark room, a wedding reception in the evening. Motorised blackout blinds or curtains, grouped so that every window in the hall closes together, make those changeovers quick and consistent. A decorative curtain layer can be motorised separately for evening events.
Wired motors are the most reliable for heavy curtains and are easiest to integrate with room controls; they need supply at each window head, which is simplest during a refurbishment. Battery motors suit retrofits where walls cannot be opened. Whatever the system, record which room has what, so maintenance can find spares and reset a motor without calling us every time.
The curtain itself must suit the motor. A ripple-fold heading on a motorised track stacks the same way every time; a hand-pleated heading tends to bunch. Make sure the track is rated for a full-height, blackout-lined curtain, and that the stack clears the glass when open. We specify fabric, heading, track and motor together so they work as one system rather than four separate purchases.
In Goa
Goan hotels rely on backup power during outages. Check that motors resume correctly when power switches over and that curtains can be drawn by hand in an emergency. Banquet halls in particular should never be left unable to open the curtains during an event.
Coastal humidity and salt affect motors and electronics as much as fabric. Keep motors inside the room, use aluminium tracks, and run every motorised curtain regularly in rooms that are closed during the monsoon low season.
