In short
Use commercial-grade, scrubbable vinyl wallcoverings in corridors and on guest-room walls, and save decorative papers and murals for feature walls in rooms, lobbies and restaurants. Specify fire-retardant products where your licence requires them, test walls for damp first, and keep spare rolls from the same batch.
What the hotel asks of wallpaper
See it in the hotel
We bring samples to your home, hold them to your light and measure every opening — anywhere in North or South Goa.
A hotel corridor is a long, narrow room that everyone passes through with luggage. A textured commercial vinyl hides minor scuffs, cleans with a cloth and can be patched almost invisibly if you hold spare rolls. Combined with a panelled dado on the lower wall, it keeps corridors presentable between refurbishments.
Pattern scale matters in corridors. A large repeat looks broken up by the many doors; a small, regular texture or a tight geometric reads as calm along the whole length and is easier to match at each doorway.
A single feature wall, usually behind the bed, gives a room character without overwhelming it or making repairs costly. Keep the remaining walls in a plain scrubbable finish so housekeeping and maintenance can touch them up easily.
Choose a design that photographs well in the room's actual light. Bring samples into a room at the time of day guests usually arrive, rather than judging them under the showroom lights.
Public areas can carry bolder designs: a mural behind reception, a pattern in the restaurant that suits the menu, a strong colour in the lifts. These walls become the hotel's backdrop on guests' phones. See our backlit feature wall project for one way of making a wallcovering the centrepiece of a space.
Most wallpaper failures are wall failures. Before hanging, we check walls for moisture — especially exterior walls, walls shared with bathrooms and corridors beside cold rooms — and make sure they are sound, smooth and sealed. Hanging over damp plaster leads to lifting seams and mould within a monsoon.
Specify fire-retardant wallcoverings where your licence or insurer requires them and ask for the supporting documents. Order enough to cover the job plus spares, all from one batch, and record the batch number in your maintenance file.
In Goa
From June to September, walls in Goa take on moisture, and AC rooms create condensation where cool air meets warm, humid corridors. Choose vinyl or breathable products to suit each wall, ensure walls are dry before hanging, and keep closed rooms ventilated or dehumidified in the low season.
Avoid wallpaper in bathrooms and spa areas unless the room is well ventilated; panels are usually a better answer there.

Yes, when the wall is dry and sealed before hanging and the right product is chosen for each wall. Damp walls are the main cause of failure.
We can specify fire-retardant wallcoverings where your licence or insurer requires them. Ask for the documentation with the order.
Enough to patch the areas most likely to be damaged — usually corridors and around doors. We help you estimate this, all from the original batch.
Yes. We work in blocks of rooms or corridor sections, coordinating with housekeeping.
