A boardroom or hotel meeting room with full-height curtains looks more formal, sounds quieter and darkens more completely than the same room with blinds alone.

Time of day
Near-total darkness — because the pole runs past the window and the curtain overlaps the frame. Light leaks at the edges, not through the fabric.
In short
Use a sheer and a blackout-lined curtain on a double ceiling track, with a ripple-fold heading and generous overlap at the centre and the edges. Choose heavier, densely woven fabrics to absorb sound, extend the curtains beyond the glass so no light leaks, and add a motor if the run is long.
What the conference room asks of curtains

We bring samples to your home, hold them to your light and measure every opening — anywhere in North or South Goa.
Blinds are compact and precise, which suits small meeting rooms and rooms with many separate windows. Curtains suit larger rooms, glass walls and anywhere the room should feel formal. They also do something blinds cannot: absorb a meaningful amount of sound across a whole wall.
In many hotel and corporate boardrooms the best answer is both: blinds in the window recesses for daily glare, and full-height curtains in front for presentations, video and evening events.
Heavier, denser fabrics absorb more sound, and more fullness — more folds per metre of track — absorbs more again. A blackout-lined curtain with generous fullness, drawn across a glass wall, makes a hard room noticeably less echoey. Lightweight sheers do almost nothing for acoustics; they are there for daylight.
Hotels and some corporate landlords ask for fire-retardant fabrics in meeting rooms. Tell us at the start and we will specify fabrics with the supplier's documentation for you to check against the requirement.
Light gets in where curtains meet and at their edges. We extend the track beyond the glass on each side, add returns that wrap back to the wall, and overlap the leading edges at the centre. For a projection room, a single curtain drawing across the whole wall avoids a centre gap entirely.
The curtain is often the background for the screen and for people on camera. Mid-tones — warm grey, taupe, slate, deep blue — look good on video and do not glare. Bright white behind a speaker makes the camera darken their face; very dark curtains can make the room feel heavy in daylight.
In Goa
Goan hotel meeting rooms are busy in the season and quieter in the monsoon, which is the time to have curtains taken down, cleaned and checked. Fabric hanging for months in a cool room against glass that sweats in the rains can mark along the hem.
Coastal hotels and offices should specify aluminium tracks and stainless fixings; corroded gliders drag and squeak, which is the last sound you want during a pitch.

FAQ
A blackout-lined curtain, often with a sheer behind it, on a ceiling track with a ripple-fold heading. It darkens the room for presentations and softens the acoustics.
Yes. Heavy, full curtains drawn across glass absorb a lot of reflected sound. For the best result, combine them with acoustic wall panels.
We can source fire-retardant fabrics and provide the supplier's documentation. Confirm the standard your hotel or building needs and we will specify accordingly.
Yes. Long or heavy runs work well on a motorised track controlled by a switch or the AV panel.
