Booths that fill a wall, banquettes that seat more covers than chairs, a lounge corner for the coffee crowd — upholstered seating that has to be wiped down between every sitting.

Avoid: Anything you cannot clean in place, on a piece used every day. Rub count is one number among several — weave, colour-fastness and how a fabric handles humidity matter as much. We bring samples to see in your room.
In short
For dining, build booths and banquettes at table height with firm, fairly upright seats, in wipeable leatherette or a performance fabric. Avoid deep tufting and loose cushions that trap crumbs, make seat pads removable, and use outdoor-rated frames and fabrics on decks. Specify fire-retardant fabric and foam.
What your restaurant or café asks of sofas

We bring samples to your home, hold them to your light and measure every opening — anywhere in North or South Goa.
Restaurants use upholstered seating in three ways. Booths — two facing benches around a table — give privacy and are popular with couples and families. Banquettes run along a wall with chairs opposite, seating more covers than chairs alone and softening a hard wall. Lounge seating — sofas and armchairs around a low table — suits cafés, bars and waiting areas, where people linger over coffee or a drink.
Each needs different proportions. Dining seats are firmer, higher and shallower than lounge seats; the backrest is more upright. We build to your tables, not to a catalogue size.
As a rough guide, the front edge of a dining seat should let a guest's knees sit comfortably under the table, with a gap between seat and tabletop that suits both a child and a tall adult. We check your table heights on site and mock up a short section if the proportions are unusual.
Leatherette is the workhorse of restaurant seating: it wipes clean, doesn't absorb spills and comes in almost any colour. Good quality matters — less expensive leatherette can crack in strong sun or air-conditioning. Performance fabrics with stain-resistant finishes give a warmer, more textured look and suit cafés and lounges, but need prompt cleaning of spills.
Avoid pale plains on dining seats. Mid-tones and textures disguise the marks that inevitably appear between deep cleans.
Deep buttoning and piping look smart but collect crumbs. A small gap between the seat and the back lets crumbs fall through to be swept up, rather than lodge in a seam. Removable seat pads with zip covers can be taken off for cleaning. Legs or a recessed plinth allow the floor beneath to be mopped.
Booth backs that face the room take knocks from chairs and passing trays. A slightly harder outer back, or a timber or panelled shell, protects the upholstery where it is most exposed.
On decks and in gardens, choose outdoor sofas with aluminium or treated timber frames, quick-drying foam and solution-dyed fabrics. Plan where cushions go at night and through the monsoon. Fire-retardant fabrics and foam should be specified for indoor seating; ask for the documentation.
In Goa
Seating in a sunny window and seating under an AC vent both stress upholstery. Leatherette can crack in strong sun; position booths or choose UV-stable materials. In humid months, leatherette and leather can grow mould if the restaurant is closed — wipe them down and air the room.
Beach cafés should treat all seating as semi-outdoor and choose materials accordingly.
