Light-filtering roller fabric: soft, even light and daytime privacy. For a bedroom, choose blackout fabric and side channels.
In short
For most clinical windows choose a blind with a hard or coated surface that can be wiped — PVC or faux-wood slats, or a roller in a coated fabric — on a cordless or wand-operated mechanism. Use dim-out or blackout rollers where screens and scans must be read, and keep the view softer in waiting rooms with zebra blinds.
What your hospital or clinic asks of blinds

We bring samples to your home, hold them to your light and measure every opening — anywhere in North or South Goa.
A hospital is not one room type. Wards want soft, even daylight and some privacy from the courtyard or the next block. Consulting rooms want the couch out of direct sun and the window screened from the car park. Imaging and eye rooms want real darkness. OPD waiting areas want glare control on long glass without feeling gloomy.
We walk the building with you and note each window's orientation, what it overlooks and what happens in the room. The outcome is usually two or three blind types repeated across the building, which keeps it consistent to look at and simple to maintain.
Ask your housekeeping or infection-control team how blinds will be cleaned — dry dusting, damp wipe, or a disinfectant routine — and choose materials that tolerate it. Slatted blinds take longer per window than a roller but hide marks better; a roller is quickest to wipe but shows every smudge on a light fabric.
Keep a note of each blind's size and fabric. When one gets damaged in a busy corridor, it can be remade to match instead of the whole run being replaced. Vertical blinds have the advantage that a single vane can be swapped.
Roller and vertical fabrics come in many grades. For healthcare settings it is worth specifying the fire performance your building needs and asking whether a fabric has a coating suited to wiping. If your policy asks for an antimicrobial-type finish, say so and we will source fabrics described that way by their supplier, with documentation, rather than making any claim of our own.
Private rooms where patients stay several days can take a softer treatment: a blind for light control with a washable curtain beside it for warmth. In shared wards, keep windows to blinds and leave the fabric to the cubicle curtains, which already have their own laundering cycle.
In Goa
Clinics that run air-conditioning through the wet months often find water collecting at the bottom of the glass by morning. A blind that sits tight against the pane will hold that moisture and spot; mounting it with a small gap and choosing PVC, aluminium or coated fabric avoids it.
Low western sun across Salcete and Bardez can make an afternoon OPD unbearable on the window side. Blinds that tilt or diffuse rather than block keep the space bright while taking the heat off waiting patients.

FAQ
Usually PVC or faux-wood slats and coated roller fabrics on cordless mechanisms. They tolerate damp, wipe clean and control light well. Imaging and eye rooms need blackout rollers.
Yes, for wide reception or OPD glazing. They handle a long window well and damaged vanes can be replaced one at a time.
Many PVC, aluminium and coated surfaces tolerate routine wiping, but the right cleaner depends on the material. Tell us your routine and we will choose materials to suit it.
Yes. A single consulting room or a whole hospital block — we visit across North and South Goa, measure every window and give a written quote.
Yes. A wall switch or remote lets staff adjust blinds without touching them, which also suits tall or hard-to-reach windows.
