A big wall deserves a big idea — a mural behind the bed, a grasscloth-look texture across the room, or wallpaper framed inside panel mouldings.

In short
For a master bedroom in Goa, choose a large-scale design or mural for the bed wall, sized for the full height of the room, in a vinyl or non-woven paper that tolerates humidity. Coordinate it with the curtains and headboard, and hang it on a dry, primed inside wall — or an outside wall only after checking it stays dry through the monsoon.
What your master bedroom asks of wallpaper
See it in your master bedroom
We bring samples to your home, hold them to your light and measure every opening — anywhere in North or South Goa.
A mural — a landscape, a botanical scene, a tropical leaf print or an abstract — turns the bed wall into a piece of art. Murals are printed to your wall's measurements, so the composition sits correctly around the bed.
If a mural feels too bold, a large-scale texture (linen, grasscloth-look, plaster effect) gives depth without a picture. Textures are also forgiving on the slightly uneven walls of older Goan houses, where a crisp geometric pattern would show every wave in the plaster.
On a very tall wall, think about where the eye lands. A mural with its detail concentrated in the lower two-thirds sits well behind a headboard; a design that only gets interesting near the ceiling is wasted in a bedroom.
In heritage Goan houses and classic interiors, wallpaper framed by mouldings is elegant: the moulding is fixed and painted, and the paper fills the frames. It also makes it easier to replace the paper later.
Decide which element leads. If the wallpaper is patterned, keep curtains plain and pick their colour from the paper. If the curtains are patterned, choose a textured paper. The dressing area can carry a quieter version of the bedroom paper.
Master suites in villas often have the biggest windows in the house. Strong west or sea light washes out pale, cool papers in the afternoon and warms everything up at sunset. Mid-tone greens, ochres, terracottas and deep blues hold their character in both lights and feel restful under lamps at night.
Hold the samples on the bed wall itself, not by the window, and look at them at three times: morning, late afternoon and after dark. In a large room the difference between the three can be surprising.
Avoid wallpaper in the en-suite unless it is a specialist moisture-resistant product in a well-ventilated area away from the shower. Avoid outside walls that show damp in the monsoon.
In Goa
Hang wallpaper between October and May, when walls are dry. A large wall that still holds monsoon moisture will push the paper off at the seams later.
In villas left empty, ask the caretaker to open the master suite and run fans or the AC on dry days in the monsoon. Wallpaper in a sealed, damp room is the first finish to suffer.

FAQ
Large-scale patterns, murals and rich textures, sized for the wall. Vinyl and non-woven grades last best in Goa's humidity.
Yes. Murals are printed to your wall's measurements so the design sits correctly around the bed.
Usually just the bed wall, or a soft texture across the room. Full-room bold patterns can feel heavy at night.
It depends on the wall's condition and the paper; a sound wall is quicker than one that needs filling and priming. We look at the wall on our visit and tell you what preparation it needs before we quote.
Only specialist moisture-resistant products, away from the shower, in a well-ventilated bathroom.
