Hall · Wallpaper
Wallpaper gives a large hall character on the scale it needs — a mural on the long wall, a textured paper behind the sofa, a pattern in the entrance — without the commitment of building anything.

In short
In a Goan hall, use wallpaper on one or two internal walls rather than the whole room: the long wall behind the sofa, the entrance wall or a dining end. Choose a scale of pattern that matches the size of the room, a washable vinyl or non-woven paper for the busy areas, and keep it off any external wall that takes monsoon damp.
What your hall asks of wallpaper

We bring samples to your home, hold them to your light and measure every opening — anywhere in North or South Goa.
The best wall is usually a long, uninterrupted internal wall — behind the main sofa, along the passage to the bedrooms, or at the dining end of a combined hall. Walls broken up by doors and windows show only fragments of a pattern and are better painted.
In a flat where the hall runs into the dining area, wallpaper can mark the dining zone on its own without a partition. In a traditional sala, a paper in a heritage-style damask or a soft botanical can sit comfortably beside lime-washed walls and wooden furniture.
Bright Goan daylight flattens pale, low-contrast papers and intensifies strong colours. In a sunny hall, mid-tones and textured papers hold up; in a darker inward-facing hall, a lighter paper with a little sheen bounces light around. Always look at a sample on the actual wall at different times of day — the hall in the morning and the hall under evening lamps are different rooms.
Large halls suit large repeats: a pattern repeat of 50 centimetres or more, a mural, or a bold stripe running floor to ceiling to emphasise height. Small repeats work better in a passage or a narrow entrance.
A printed mural is made to the exact size of the wall, so it can wrap around a doorway or stop neatly at a cornice. In Goan homes palm groves, paddy fields, river scenes and tropical botanicals are popular and look natural in a room that already opens onto green. Keep the furniture in front of a mural low so the image is not hidden behind the sofa back.
A hall can carry one panelled wall and one papered wall, but not much more before it becomes busy. If the TV wall is panelled, keep the wallpaper on a wall at right angles to it, and pick a paper whose colours echo the panel finish. Bring curtain and sofa samples to the wallpaper choice; a paper that looks perfect on its own can fight a patterned curtain beside it.
In Goa
Never paper an external wall that shows damp in the rains, or a wall shared with a bathroom that leaks. The moisture comes through, the adhesive gives way and mould can grow behind the paper. We check walls with care on the visit and prepare them — sealing, priming and letting new plaster cure fully — before anything is hung.
Non-woven papers breathe better than older paper-backed vinyls, which matters in a house that is closed through the wet months. On return, open the hall up and let it air for a day before switching on the AC; sudden drying can stress the seams.

FAQ
Yes, on sound internal walls. Choose a washable, breathable paper, prepare the wall properly and keep it away from walls that take monsoon damp.
Larger repeats, murals and textured papers. Small busy patterns get lost on a long wall and look fussy close up.
Washable vinyl and coated non-woven papers can be wiped with a damp cloth, which is what a busy hall needs. Uncoated papers and some textures should only be dusted.
Paint for most walls, wallpaper for one or two that you want to stand out. A papered feature wall gives the hall character without making it heavy.
Yes. We check and prepare the wall, supply the paper and hang it, across North and South Goa.
