Reupholstering a sound frame costs less than replacing it and keeps a piece that already fits the room. These are two different homes and two quite different briefs, both photographed on completion.
The details
The first was recovered during an active renovation — the photograph shows dust sheets down and finishing work still in progress around it. The second is a three-seater in a family home, shot beside a Christmas crib.
Two frames given another working life, each recovered in a fabric chosen for how the piece is actually used.
