The Decisions That Mattered

Two fabrics share the run: a grey botanical jacquard on the outer panels and a plain cream on the inner ones, both in a pinch pleat heading.

A full-height wall of curtain that makes the room taller than the window alone would, with two fabrics doing different jobs on one track.

01Ceiling track, not a pole on the lintelFixing to the slab takes the curtain to full room height instead of stopping at the window head. In a room with an ordinary ceiling that single decision is what makes the wall read as tall, and it avoids putting load into blockwork above the opening.
02Track wider than the glassThe track runs well past the opening on both sides, so when the curtains are drawn back they stack onto wall rather than covering glazing. Track sized to the window is the single most common reason a room stays darker than it should.
03Pinch pleat at generous fullnessThe heading is a hand-formed pinch pleat, and the folds stay deep and even all the way down. That only happens with enough fabric in the run — at low fullness the same fabric hangs as a flat panel and never recovers its shape after being drawn.
04Pattern outside, plain insidePutting the patterned pair on the outside and the plain pair inside means the busier fabric frames the opening while the plain one does the closing. Drawn fully, the window reads as plain; open, it reads as pattern.
